I admit that sometimes it's hard to keep on top of the latest health and wellness news. From the recommended amount of exercise to the right mix of vitamins and minerals, it all changes so much that it kind of makes you want to pull your hair out sometimes. (And we all know how harmful stress is on the body...)That's why this article on CNN caught my attention. The writer of the article followed all of the various health guidelines from the government for an entire month! Her experience and results are interesting to say the least.
How about you? How many of you limit your calories to 2,000 a day, along with getting your fruits, veggies and whole grains in? And how many get at least 30 minutes almost every day of moderate activity? As the author learns, being perfectly healthy takes time, planning and a lot of patience!

wow.. this is what i am searching for.. nice post, i need sumthing like this :D thanks.,
These days we lead a hectic life. You can hardly enjoy wholesome meal at home where we can cook it ourselves to our own specification so to speak. Most of the time we are away from home, away from our kitchen. So we indulge ourselves with fast food instead. Well, I guess to eat perfectly for a month is impossible. The only way you could do this is by taking supplements such as vitamins and mineral.
Haha. I tend to overeat. But luckily my metabolism is relatively high.
I'm trying to eat healthy though.

I think it's possible to restrict calorie intake when things are going well, but under the stresses of modern life, we often race to the chocolate stash to find comfort when things aren't going our way.
With the world's resources declining I think we all need to eat a bit less & move a bit more, but that's easier said than done.

I would love to eat perfectly for a month, but life gets in the way!

great article. thanks for the late night read.
It's the long term dieting that's the problem. Diets will sometimes give a quick fix but are difficult to stick to long term until a goal weight is reached.
A whole healthy lifestyle change is needed to successfully lose weight and keep it off.
hahahaa...i'm so slim that i don't need to limit my calories. perhaps one day when i get old i'm gonna need it. thanks
An Indian Yogi once said "A man digs his grave with his own teeth" Most of the diseases right from asthma, diabetes, cancer, heart diseases that rob us of decades of healthy life can be attributed to the food we eat.
As mentioned in an earlier post life is so hectic that its almost impossible to keep on top of everything.I do my best to keep healthy by cleaning the system of toxins regularly.Linseeds once a day,a magnesium tablet once a day but make sure that its plant extracted magnesium and not rock extracted,as this makes a big difference. It assists your kidneys in flushing out any impurities.I also take two hemp seed oil tablets a day and since I have combined all three,I have been feeling great.
It´s all in the mind, also genetic. But if we could focus and train our mind, not just to eating healthy, simply for our life itself we would lose weight.
If we could stay healthy for a month it would get us into a routine that would satisfy us and lead us to losing more weight on the second month.
Trying to do anything 'perfectly' for a month is hard! And diet is even more difficult as time constraints frequently impact food choices. Even small steps in the right direction are better than no steps at all.

i would eat perfectly for 26 days, how about that. i just love food too much!
I agree, planning a healthy lifestyle takes dedication and a lot of hard work. One this that seems to be really popular at the moment is Green Tea. Not only has it been clinically proven to reduce fat oxidation it also helps with tons of other health related problems. Just search on Google for the benefits of green tea. You'll be surprised, I Was!! Thanks..
I think sometimes there is a tendency for people who are trying to be perfect with their diet and exercise programs to get down on themselves when they aren't perfect. Then they give up altogether. Rather than trying to be perfect, I recommend to my patients and personal training clients to focus on what they are doing right and be proud of that and not worry about the occasional missed workout or poor diet choice.
It can be difficult to eat healthy but you can find ways to make it more fun..I drink a green smoothie( half fruit/half green leafy veggies) everyday. It's a easy way to get your 10 servings of fruits and veggies in.
Could I eat perfectly for 30 days? It would be a challenge but could definitely do it.
One of the main issues is that there is so much junk out there and it's widely availble. while this is done because of that exact reason it's ultimately up to us who makes the decision on whether or not to buy it and eat it.
Always a choice.
I don't think that it is realistic to eat perfectly for a month and expect to lose weight and keep it off for good. That is why i hate the word "diet". when you think of diet you think you think of short term eventually you will get off the diet.
Instead, people should be focusing on making healthier choices and learning how your body process different foods and how to eat for your body type
I think it will be tough to eat perfectly for a month but that I can manage it :)
Yes. Following a healthy balanced diet is not as difficult as it sounds.
You just need to know what to eat and you are good to go.
Overtime, you might even prefer the taste of wholesome healthy food over convenient TV dinner and fast food.
Yes, it's terribly difficult to eat the right things when you're on the go. We are such a fast paced society and there is less and less time for personal health.
Great post. It was well written. Keep up the good work.
I did try to eat healthy in a month but sometimes temptations really makes me eat for special occasions..
I am really trying so hard to go on a healthy meal to lose weight. But due to the so called always on the rush lifestyle it's really hard to shed those fats and excess weight off my body. Most of the time I am compromised to turn to fast meals readily available which I am aware that it contains lots of preservatives and fats just to save precious time. Now I am a bit confused on what to prioritize.
I agree. It does take a lot of patience and most of all commitment.
Though, this is also true that the media (though right) keeps on making it more complex than it already is.
it's not easy to live healthy especially if you've been carefree before..I've experienced this and it was hard..but it actually does a lot of good to our health and our life..i can harldy get a 10 min exercise daily haha..
By switching to vegetarian diet, one can significantly reduce calories intake. In addition, green food rich with fiber, minerals does not add fat to our body. Walking instead of driving to nearby restaurant or supermarket will surely burn more calories than usual. Simple adaptations in life can make big changes to our health.
Maybe if there was a really good reward at the end of the month. I eat pretty well, but only work out a couple times a week.
I don't think it's about eating perfectly for a month. Some could do that but very, very few could do that consistently. What you can do consistently is live within some basic principles. Fruit and vegetables every day. Activity/exercise 3-5 days a week. Adequate sleep most nights of the week. On the days you can't live perfectly, your basic principles will keep you in the game.
Great article. Its very informative!
Loved reading the story ;)
Thank you.
easy to be said than done, hope I can, am going to try my best

Eating perfectly in a month is very hard to do. I would prefer having exercise and workouts to make my body stay healthy. Click TACFIT Commando review for some workout tips.
Most people fail when they have to stay on a restrictive diet. It's good enough to eat perfectly 90% of the time.
